Spring Bird Walk; Saturday, May 26 8 - 11
Steve Moeckel will lead a birding walk in Cedar Bog. $6 per person $5 OHS & CBA members

Tree Identification Workshop; Saturday, June 2 10 – 12 a.m. This class is open to students and adults interested in leaf collections or identifying trees. Class fee includes book for keying out trees, a magnifying lens, and a plant press to press the leaves. Reservations are required. Class fee is $15. Steve Moeckel will conduct the classes.

Orchid Walk; Sunday, June 3 1 - 3 p.m.
A guided tour of some of our beautiful orchids at Cedar Bog. Tour led by Jean Gayley and Jill Michael. $5 adults $4 OHS & CBA members & children Under 6 – free!!!

Champaign County Library Summer Reading Program. Dream Big at the Bog! June 21, 5 to 8 pm. an evening nature walk and activities for those participating in the reading program.

Hours and Admission

Education Center Hours are Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm. Building closed on major holidays

Cedar Bog Boardwalk is open Sunday-Saturday, dawn to dusk. Boardwalk closed during deer gun season for your safety.

If the Education Center is closed, please leave your admission money in the little blue box at the start of the boardwalk.
Admission rates are: $5.00 per adult; $4.00 per student.

Cedar Bog Association members and Ohio Historical Society members FREE.

Group tours of 10 people or more by appointment.

70 years of Cedar Bog

2012 marks the 70th anniversary of the creation of Cedar Bog Nature Preserve. It is also the 30th anniversary of the Cedar Bog Association. Join us for events marking these wonderful occasions this year.

Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to staff the Education Center on days that we are open. Days are divided into morning and afternoon shifts, but if you would like to be there all day you are welcome. Please contact us if you would like to help out. Also if you aren't a member and would like to join the association or volunteer contact us, we are always looking for help.

Bog Store

Catrow Prints

An amazingly creative watercolor and ink drawing of Cedar Bog by nationally syndicated cartoonist David Catrow is available at Cedar Bog Nature Preserve and at all Cedar Bog Association events. Catrow is also an award-winning children's book illustrator. He recently retired from his daily assignment at the Springfield News-Sun, but is still working with them on some projects - including this one. The prints and posters were printed for the Cedar Bog Association by the Springfield News-Sun.

Bird Watchers

Rent the Education Center

Need a large place for your next big meeting or family gathering? The Education Center at Cedar Bog is available for rental. the class room is ideal for informal meals or large meetings. We have telephone as well as both regular and wireless internet available to those who may require connections. Our ceiling mounted projector is laptop compatible for giving presentations.
